Who we are
A small practice built around one working relationship at a time
VICTOR KIPTOO KIPROTICH started as a way of sharing what one editor learned across years of working with reporters who had no newsroom behind them.
VICTOR KIPTOO KIPROTICH was founded by a former desk editor who spent a decade helping reporters shape their copy inside a newsroom, then watched many of the same reporters go independent with none of that support left behind them. The gap was rarely about talent. It was about the missing second pair of eyes, and the missing knowledge of which door to knock on for a document.
What began as informal calls with a handful of former colleagues became a small, deliberately unhurried practice. VICTOR KIPTOO KIPROTICH still works the same way today — one reporter, one piece of work, one conversation at a time, without pretending to be bigger than it is.
We are based in Nairobi and work with reporters across Kenya, in person where it makes sense and over video call everywhere else.
What we hold to
01
Your byline, your story
We advise and support. We never write, edit for publication credit, or claim any part of your work.
02
Lawful routes only
Every method we teach for finding documents uses open, legitimate channels — nothing else.
03
Sustainable over fast
We'd rather help you build a practice you can keep doing in five years than rush one deadline.
